Yep, it's finally here. a DeviantArt club dedicated to the roundest and fluffiest siberian tiger currently known to man.
Who is Ushi?
Ushi is a Siberian tiger male who currently lives in the Ouwehands ZOO in the city of Rhenen, the Netherlands. Originally from Kiev, he had been moved to the dutch zoo in 2003 in order to breed with Vannilka, the resident female. Up till now this resulted in 5 bouncing baby tigers.
What makes ushi special is his exceptionally round face, accentuated by the stripes that circle around his cheeks, his roundish, rather dumpy body and his friendly and curious disposition. But what really wins the people over is the look in his eyes; a good natured, curious and slightly bemused look that one deviant once characterized as "he looks like he lost his car keys".
In the years that i have been on DA, i have had the oppertunity to make numerous pics of this tiger and he quickly won the heart of of everybody who saw his face.
What will this club do?
This club will be used to collect and display all the photographs and other pieces of art made of this tiger and give all the who have become fans of ushi from seeing his photographs on the pages of
a nice oppertunity to see what kind of creative outbursts ushi causes in other artists as well. At the moment this club will only collect and display the art from all artists who want to participate in the club. at the moment these works will be uploaded, keeping the upload rate low to prevent peoples new submissions folder from being swamped. In the future this club may organize activities such as art contests. This depends on how popular the club will become.
How can you become a member? and how can you upload art here?
Just send a note to me and say that you want to be a member, that is all. if you want to upload a work of art featuring ushi to this club, upload it to your own gallery and send me a note with the url to your art. i will then upload it to the club.
it would be nice if you would add the link to this club in your journals/sigs or wherever you normally put these things, but i won't make it compulsory.

Ushi is so darn cute I could cry. I may only want to cry as these beautiful creatures are crawling near extinction.
Or I may want to cry because Uschi is the name of my mother-in-law
I LOVE tigers and am saddened of how they could be disappearing as they are.
Ushi is gorgeous and I will be back often to see what works are celebrating this wonderful creature.
I can only watch as I cannot make art of Ushi. Only photograph and I cannot do that.
